Take a look at all your rod and reel combos.  Most of us could probably point to a couple that we enjoy using more than others. To what can we attribute this?…  According to Kelly Watson of Pinnacle Fishing that answer is “balance”. Balance isn’t the only goal, though. Watson says that “lightness and balance are the ultimate goals.”  If you nail both, you have achieved a result that is as close to perfection as possible. Wolak’s Mixed Bag Formula

Wake Forest, NC - Brown or green? That’s the question that many tournament anglers face when fishing mixed species lakes holding both smallmouth and largemouth bass. The third FLW Tour Open of the year on Lake Champlain this past September was a perfect example of how a mixed species fishery can play mind games on tournament anglers looking for the top spot on the leader board. Wolak Wallops 19, Beats Yamamoto By 6-Plus-Pounds

Dave Wolak loves being back home. He grew up in Pennsylvania and cut his tournament teeth on key Northeastern fisheries like Seneca, Oneida, the Hudson and of course, Champlain. That experience is important, but it wasn't until he gambled it all and joined the Bassmaster Tour in 2005 that he learned to win the big one. He won his first tour-level event back in 2006 and waited 5 long years to win his next, which he did today at the Champlain FLW Tour Open.
